Great Fishing at Sleepy Hollow Resort

Island Lake

Island Lake is a 3,000 acre lake with a maximum depth of 35 feet and a water clarity of 6 feet.  Sleepy Hollow Resort is located on the northwest shore of the lake just off of Highway 46.  Island Lake provides a perfect setting for great recreation and fishing with 12 miles of shoreline, two islands, plentiful underwater structure and clean, clear water.

Anglers enjoy great Minnesota fishing on Island LakeAnglers enjoy great Minnesota fishing for walleye, northern pike, perch, bass, bluegill and crappie.  Walleye have been stocked every two years since the early 1980's and adult bluegill were stocked in 1984.  A large population of yellow perch is partly responsible for the abundance of walleye and northern pike and it appears that the stocking of bluegills in 1984 was successful in creating a naturally reproducing population.

Guests of Sleepy Hollow Resort enjoy use of our convenient concrete boat launch as well as dock space for one boat.  For a small fee we will even launch your boat for you!  For your convenience we have on-site bait sales including minnows, leeches and crawlers as well as mixed and straight gas.  Additionally, our guests can rent boats, motors or a pontoon by the day or the week.Sleepy Hollow Resort offers boat, motor and pontoon rentals

Located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, Island Lake offers a wide range of outdoor activities guaranteed to relieve day-to-day stress and refresh your spirit.  The clean water of Island Lake make swimming off of our docks or water-skiing a great way to pass a summer day.  Guests enjoy free use of our paddleboat and canoe from which they can explore Elmwood Island - an island which offers trails for hiking.  Wildlife is abundant on the shores of Island Lake so it isn't unusual to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle soaring above, the peaceful call of the Loon at dusk or deer getting a drink at the water's edge.
