Island
Lake is a 3,000 acre lake with a maximum depth of 35 feet and a water
clarity of 6 feet. Sleepy Hollow Resort is located on the
northwest shore of the lake just off of Highway 46. Island Lake
provides a perfect setting for great recreation and fishing with 12
miles of shoreline, two islands, plentiful underwater structure and
clean, clear water.
Guests of Sleepy Hollow Resort enjoy use of our convenient concrete
boat launch as well as dock space for one boat. For a small fee we
will even launch your boat for you! For your convenience we have
on-site bait sales including minnows, leeches and crawlers as well as
mixed and straight gas. Additionally, our guests can rent
boats, motors or a pontoon by the day or the week. Located in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest, Island Lake offers a wide range of outdoor activities guaranteed to relieve day-to-day stress and refresh your spirit. The clean water of Island Lake make swimming off of our docks or water-skiing a great way to pass a summer day. Guests enjoy free use of our paddleboat and canoe from which they can explore Elmwood Island - an island which offers trails for hiking. Wildlife is abundant on the shores of Island Lake so it isn't unusual to catch a glimpse of a bald eagle soaring above, the peaceful call of the Loon at dusk or deer getting a drink at the water's edge.
